Jane Russell Geddings

Jane Russell Geddings, a native of Charlotte, NC, has been teaching movement for thirty years, in all disciplines and styles, for ages two through adults., beginner through professional. 

“Miss Jane” is a LARY and HAMI award winner for her choreography in theatres along the west coast of Florida. She currently is the choreographer for the City of Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center in Florida. Her expertise includes acting and singing, as well as dancing, in musical theatre productions.

  Miss Geddings serves as the dance director for the New Century Opera Ballet Company. Her recent projects include the World Premiere of “FREEDOM FOUND”  in September 2010.

She is presently working on the choreography for the Boito opera “Mephistopheles”,

 Her teaching experience includes sixteen years with Dance Tree International, where she remained the top producer for the state of Florida. Her association with MaryLee Kennedy, President of Dance Tree, has helped to fulfill a lifelong dream of bringing movement to students of all ages. The love of TAP, fostered by Miss MaryLee, remains a focus for Jane. As MaryLee has observed, “You can’t tap dance without a smile”!

 Miss Geddings served as an adjunct professor for the University of South Florida dance program, where she was instrumental in introducing tap in the curriculum. She is on the faculty of All American Dance Factory in Tampa, FL, which was just honored as one of the top 50 competition studios in the nation . Her work also includes writing and producing children’s musicals.

 Her company, Miss Jane’s Class Inc, provides dance and gymnastics programs in private and day schools. The outreach that the programs provide are invaluable to young students who would not normally have a chance to study dance or gym. She has had the opportunity to teach second generation students, and has former students return to teach for Miss Jane’s Class.

 Jane and her husband, classical pianist Robert Miller, are lifetime members of the American Liszt Society; and are presently restoring a 103 year old home in Brooksville, Florida.
